RUBBER PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Rubber Production Engineer to oversee and optimize the manufacturing processes for elastomeric products. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of rubber compounding, processing, and quality control — especially within the context of marine engineering applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations of rubber production lines, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Supervise mixing, calendaring, extrusion, molding (compression/injection), and curing processes.
• Develop and optimize rubber formulations in collaboration with R&D to meet specific marine engineering standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.).
• Monitor and improve production KPIs: cycle time, yield, scrap rate, and downtime.
• Coordinate with design, quality, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot process issues.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations in rubber processing.
• Conduct regular training for operators and technicians on best practices in rubber manufacturing.
• Maintain documentation for process parameters, batch records, and production reports.
• Participate in new product development and scale-up of prototypes for commercial production.
• Liaise with vendors and procurement for raw material specifications and quality consistency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Rubber Technology, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in rubber manufacturing, preferably in a marine or industrial application.
• Strong knowledge of rubber compounding, process engineering, and elastomer behavior.
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment such as mixing mills, extruders, and molding presses.
• Familiarity with QA/QC practices and standards relevant to the marine industry.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in Rubber Technology (e.g., IRM, IIT) is an advantage.
• Exposure to international marine standards (IMO, SOLAS, DNV, etc.).
• Experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
