Retail Sales Consultant

Job description:

The Home Consultant will be the primary point of contact for customers in a furniture retail store. This role involves understanding customer needs, offering personalized product recommendations, and ensuring a superior shopping experience that reflects the brand’s values and aesthetics.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet walk-in customers and provide warm, professional service

Understand customer preferences, lifestyle, and home needs to recommend suitable furniture and decor

Guide customers through the store layout, collections, and design inspirations

Maintain in-depth knowledge of products (materials, sizes, custom options, usage)

Assist with pricing, offers, financing options, and closing sales

Coordinate with store manager and inventory team for stock updates

Create mood boards or 3D visualizations (if applicable) to help customers visualize purchases

Follow up with customers post-purchase for feedback and referrals

Maintain a clean and inviting showroom atmosphere

Qualifications & Skills:

1–3 years of experience in retail sales, home decor, or furniture industry preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Basic knowledge of interior styling or customer consultation is a plus

Ability to learn product details and present them confidently

Computer-savvy; familiarity with POS systems and CRM software

Fluent in English and regional language(s)
