Job Description

As a Research Manager at PxD, your role will involve managing the implementation of a new research project aimed at generating insights on crowdsourcing information among smallholder farmers in India. You will work in a high-performing, flexible, and non-hierarchical team, collaborating closely with researchers to test and refine innovative ideas. Your responsibilities will include: - Managing research activities for the project with adherence to rigor, policies, timelines, and budgets. - Managing financial and human resources. - Guiding teams on evidence-based approaches and maintaining technical standards. - Overseeing data management, analysis, and survey implementation. - Documenting research activities and results. - Interpreting evidence for program improvement. - Managing partner relations and external stakeholder engagement. - Developing and ensuring compliance with IRB protocols. - Providing mentorship to staff. - Contributing to internal and external communications for dissemination of project results. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, agricultural economics, public policy, or a related field. - Professional experience in rigorous research and evidence-based programs in LMIC countries. - Ability to draw inferences from data and apply findings to program design. - Deep understanding of economics and randomized evaluations. - Proficiency in Stata, R, or similar software for data analysis. - Experience in survey design using SurveyCTO/ODK or similar tools. - Strong grasp of research & program life cycle and staff management. - Strong writing and oral communication skills in English. - Willingness to travel to field sites in India.
