Research Manager (India)

As a Research Manager at PxD, you will be a crucial part of a dynamic and innovative team working on a research project aimed at generating insights on crowdsourcing information among smallholder farmers in India. Your role will involve managing the implementation of the project, collaborating with researchers, and testing innovative ideas to improve the livelihoods of individuals living in poverty sustainably. The project focuses on enabling smallholder farmers in low- and middle-income countries to access quality information for informed decision-making during the cultivation cycle. Through experiments and insights from various disciplines, including behavioral, agricultural, and development economics, the research aims to understand the factors influencing farmers" decisions to contribute and act on crowdsourced information. You will be responsible for overseeing research activities, ensuring adherence to rigor, managing financial and human resources, guiding evidence-based approaches, and maintaining technical standards. Additionally, you will lead data management, analysis, documentation, partner relations, and compliance with research protocols. Your role will also involve mentoring staff, contributing to communications efforts, and supporting knowledge management within PxD. The ideal candidate for this position will hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, agricultural economics, or public policy, with experience in managing research projects in LMIC countries. You should have a strong analytical background, knowledge of data analysis tools, and expertise in research ethics. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to travel to field sites in India are essential for this role.
