Research Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Law

(Ref.: 533657) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, with strong knowledge of Hong Kong law, in particular constitutional law and civil procedure. They should be self‑motivated, well‑organized, and able to work independently, with a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Familiarity with large language models and natural language processing technologies would be an advantage.The appointee will join an interdisciplinary team from the Faculty of Law and the School of Computing and Data Science on an innovative project aimed at developing AI-powered legal tools to enhance teaching and learning in legal education. Responsibilities will include reviewing course materials to identify and define datasets; coordinating with course convenors to obtain required data; annotating, cleaning, and processing data for use in AI applications; supervising Student Research Assistants; collaborating with the technical team on system design; testing and validating systems; conducting user feedback sessions with students and staff to improve system usability; and supporting course convenors in integrating the developed tools into their teaching curricula.A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.The University only accepts online application for the above post.
