About the Role

Remote Sensing & GIS Specialist

This is a full-time or contractual position based on suitability and project requirements.

Educational Qualifications Required

• Master’s degree (M.Sc/M.Tech or equivalent) in:
• Geology
• Applied Geology
• Geo-informatics

Additional

• Relevant training or certification (6 months or more) in Remote Sensing, GIS, or allied areas

• Minimum 5 years’ overall experience

  in remote sensing and GIS
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience in the mining or allied sectors
• Retired or ex-servicemen who have served at least 5 years in Central/State Mining Departments, Research Institutes, or Academic Institutions in relevant areas are also welcome to apply

Technical Expertise Required

• Proficient in GIS and Remote Sensing software including:
• ArcGIS
• QGIS
• Erdas Imagine
• Working knowledge of:
• ArcGIS Extensions: Spatial Analyst, Data Management Tools, Overlay Analysis
• GIS Database Management and Geo-Spatial Analysis

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform remote sensing, GIS, and GPS-based mapping and analysis for geological and mining applications
• Lead digital photogrammetry and spatial data interpretation for project planning
• Conduct excavation measurements and slope stability assessments using geo-spatial techniques
• Maintain and update GIS databases ensuring data accuracy and integrity
• Create technical reports, spatial maps, and stakeholder presentations
• Coordinate with field teams and project managers for integrated monitoring and project management
