Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic New Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new clients across diverse segments to drive market penetration.
  • Lead the sales team
  • Modern Trade:

    Target and onboard national and regional supermarket/hypermarket chains not currently serviced by Sri Dairy. Prefer having established relationship with major player like DMART, Reliance , SPAR, KPN, etc,. Also, packed sweets and snacks handling is added benefit
  • HORECA:

    Develop and execute a strategy to supply hotels, restaurants, and cafes, positioning our packaged sweets for their menus, desserts, and gifting segments.
  • General Trade & Wholesalers:

    Establish relationships with large distributors and wholesalers to facilitate bulk orders and supply a network of retail outlets.
  • Corporate Sales:

    Cultivate opportunities for corporate gifting contracts and canteen supply agreements.
  • Employ a multi-channel approach (cold calling, email campaigns, field visits) to build a qualified pipeline and schedule meetings with key decision-makers.

2. End-to-End Sales Cycle Management

  • Own and manage the entire sales process from initial lead generation to contract closure and account transition.
  • Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations and product sampling to showcase the quality and value of Sri Dairy products.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and service level agreements within defined company guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit professional proposals, quotations, and contracts.

3. Market Intelligence & Performance Analytics

  • Conduct continuous market research to identify emerging trends, competitor strategies, and untapped market opportunities.
  • Utilize CRM tools to maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline, providing transparent daily/weekly reports on activities, forecasts, and achievements.
  • Serve as the "eyes and ears" in the market, gathering critical feedback on products, pricing, and packaging to inform management decisions.

4. People Management

  • Manage the sales team and promotors.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    A minimum of 8

    -13 years of progressive sales experience

    in the FMCG sector, with a

    mandatory focus on packaged foods, ready-to-eat, or dairy products. Sweets and Snacks business experience is value added.

  • Channel Expertise:

    Proven and demonstrable experience

    in handling and acquiring

    Modern Trade customers

    is essential.
  • Sales Acumen:

    A documented history as a "hunter," with a strong ability to open new doors, build a pipeline from scratch, and close deals.
  • Communication Skills:

    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in

    English and Tamil.

    Proficiency in

    Hindi is a significant advantage.

  • Mobility:

    Willingness and ability to undertake significant travel (approximately 20-30%) across the region, often at short notice.
  • Technical Skills:

    Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with a CRM system.
