Job Title:

Job Summary:

Regional Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and implement region-specific sales strategies aligned with national goals.
    • Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the region.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Territory Sales Executives (TSEs), and other field staff.
    • Set KPIs and regularly review team performance.
  • Distribution & Channel Development:

    • Appoint and manage distributors, stockists, and super stockists across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
    • Strengthen traditional trade channels and explore modern trade/e-commerce partnerships.
  • Market Development:

    • Identify new business opportunities and develop plans to penetrate underserved markets.
    • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to ensure competitiveness.
  • Retail Execution:

    • Ensure product visibility, availability, and promotional execution at the retail level.
    • Drive new product launches, schemes, and merchandising activities.
  • Sales Operations:

    • Track primary and secondary sales, manage credit limits, and ensure timely collections.
    • Work with supply chain and demand planning teams to manage inventory and logistics.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    • Prepare region-wise sales reports and performance dashboards.
    • Analyze data to identify gaps and propose corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred).
  • 8–12 years of experience in FMCG sales, with at least 3–4 years in a regional leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and achieving business targets.
  • Strong network and understanding of retail/distributor ecosystems in Tamil Nadu & Kerala.

Skills Required:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving approach.
  • Deep market understanding of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
  • Proficiency in Tamil and/or Malayalam is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
