Job Title: Regional Sales Manager Tamil Nadu & Kerala Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Department: Sales Industry: FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) Reports To: Zonal Sales Head / National Sales Head Job Summary: We are looking for a highly driven and experienced Regional Sales Manager to oversee sales operations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala . The RSM will be responsible for achieving sales targets, driving market share growth, managing distributor networks, and leading a high-performing sales team. Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement region-specific sales strategies aligned with national goals. Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the region. Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Territory Sales Executives (TSEs), and other field staff. Set KPIs and regularly review team performance. Distribution & Channel Development: Appoint and manage distributors, stockists, and super stockists across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Strengthen traditional trade channels and explore modern trade/e-commerce partnerships. Market Development: Identify new business opportunities and develop plans to penetrate underserved markets. Monitor competitor activities and market trends to ensure competitiveness. Retail Execution: Ensure product visibility, availability, and promotional execution at the retail level. Drive new product launches, schemes, and merchandising activities. Sales Operations: Track primary and secondary sales, manage credit limits, and ensure timely collections. Work with supply chain and demand planning teams to manage inventory and logistics. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare region-wise sales reports and performance dashboards. Analyze data to identify gaps and propose corrective actions. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred). 8–12 years of experience in FMCG sales, with at least 3–4 years in a regional leadership role. Proven track record of managing large teams and achieving business targets. Strong network and understanding of retail/distributor ecosystems in Tamil Nadu & Kerala. Skills Required: Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Analytical thinking and problem-solving approach. Deep market understanding of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Proficiency in Tamil and/or Malayalam is preferred. Willingness to travel extensively.
