Regional Sales Manager to join our client organisation


Role Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, particularly within the FMCG and baby care products sector. This role is essential to lead and drive regional sales across Western India by building a strong multi-channel distribution network, achieving revenue targets, and expanding brand presence. The role requires deep expertise in General Trade and strong exposure to Modern Trade. The incumbent will bring customer-centric thinking, thought leadership, and proven ability to scale a new-age brand in competitive FMCG/Personal Care markets. This is an onsite opportunity.


Core Responsibilities

Sales Leadership

Deliver top-line sales numbers across General Trade and Modern Trade in Western Zone (India).

Expand distribution footprint through efficient appointment, onboarding, and monitoring of distributors/stockists.

Build and manage a high-performing sales team for the region.

Channel Management

Strengthen General Trade (GT) with superior outlet coverage, distributor ROI, and channel loyalty.

Drive Modern Trade (MT) partnerships with strong execution of visibility and assortment.

Strategic Growth

Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with company goals.

Build strong retailer and distributor relationships to ensure product availability, visibility, and brand recall.

Work closely with the COO to drive market share and penetration in priority markets.

Performance Management

Set clear sales targets, monitor KPIs, and implement corrective actions.

Ensure efficient secondary sales monitoring, claims settlement, and ROI tracking.

Drive a culture of customer centricity and service excellence.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a related field
  • 10-12 years of experience in sales, preferably in the FMCG/Baby care products sector
  • Strong GT expertise with proven ability to manage distributors & retail networks
  • Good understanding of MT dynamics (negotiations, JBPs, category management)
  • Awareness of e-commerce business levers and integration with offline channels
  • Customer-first mindset with strong influencing & relationship-building skills
  • Analytical & strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach
  • Team leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilities
