Position: Quality Manager (Electronics Manufacturing)

Work Location: Mysore

Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Establish, implement, and maintain a robust QMS aligned with

    ISO 9001

    ,

    ISO 13485

    , or other relevant standards.
  • Ensure compliance with

    IPC standards

    (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, etc.).
  • Prepare and lead internal, customer, and third-party audits.
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and ensure audit readiness.

Process Quality PCBA, Box Build, Cable Assembly

  • Oversee in-process and final quality checks across

    SMT, PTH, reflow, testing (ICT, FCT), box build assembly, and cable harnessing

    .
  • Implement and monitor quality control plans at each production stage.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for internal and customer quality issues and lead

    8D

    /CAPA activities.
  • Ensure proper usage of tools like FMEA, SPC, MSA, control plans, and process audits.

Customer & Supplier Quality

  • Act as the primary interface for customer quality concerns, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage

    RMA, NCR, and customer complaint resolution

    processes with structured problem-solving (8D, 5 Why, etc.).
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier quality; conduct supplier audits and drive corrective actions.

Quality Reporting & Metrics

  • Track and report on key quality performance indicators:
    • First Pass Yield (FPY)
    • DPMO / PPM
    • RMA rate
    • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
    • Supplier defect rate
  • Present quality data and analysis to management and customers as needed.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Lead and mentor a team of quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
  • Provide training on quality tools, IPC standards, workmanship criteria, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Promote continuous improvement culture across departments.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 12-15 years

    of experience in quality leadership roles in

    EMS/contract manufacturing

    .
  • Hands-on knowledge of

    PCBA, cable harnessing

    , and

    box build

    quality control.
  • Familiarity with

    IPC-A-610

    ,

    IPC/WHMA-A-620

    ,

    J-STD-001

    .
  • Experience with quality standards like

    ISO 9001

    ,

    ISO 13485

    ,

    IATF 16949

    , or

    AS9100

    is a plus.

Tools & Skills

  • Skilled in problem-solving tools: 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, Fishbone, Pareto, etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma methodologies (Green/Black Belt preferred).
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP/MES systems, and quality software tools.
