This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 2 years Location: Kolhapur JobType: full-time Seeking a skilledQuality Inspectorto perform comprehensive inspection and verification of both raw and machined cast components. The ideal candidate will ensure full compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and relevant industry standards. The role requires hands-on inspection using various precision tools, documenting non-conformities, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain product quality and integrity. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Perform100% visual inspectionof raw castings for defects such as cracks, porosity, shrinkage, and surface irregularities using visual and non-destructive techniques (e.g., dye penetrant). Conductdimensional inspectionsof raw and machined castings using instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Interpretengineering drawings,GD&Tsymbols, and adhere to tolerance standards (e.g., ISO 8062, ASME Y14.5). Carry outin-process and final inspectionsof machined components to verify specification compliance. Review and validatesupplier inspection reports,test certificates(chemical, mechanical, NDT), and internal quality documentation. Record and documentnon-conformancesin line withPPAPstandards; support root cause analysis andCAPAimplementation. Maintain comprehensive inspection records and assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits. Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards such asISO 9001,IATF 16949, orAS9100depending on the domain. Coordinate with production, engineering, and procurement teams to resolve quality-related issues. Operate, calibrate, and maintaininspection instruments; ensure calibration records are up to date. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding ofcasting processes(sand casting, investment casting) andmachining operations(turning, milling, drilling, boring). Proficiency withsurface finish evaluationmethods (e.g., Ra values, comparator scales). Familiarity with a broad range ofmeasurement instruments, includingCMM. Working knowledge ofsampling plans(AQL, ANSI Z1.4),SPC tools, androot cause analysistechniques (5 Whys, Fishbone diagram). Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail. Proficiency inMS Excelfor quality data recording and reporting. Work Environment: This role involves working in bothshop floorandinspection labsettings. Candidates must be comfortable in environments that may involveheat, noise, or exposure to oil, and should consistently usepersonal protective equipment (PPE)in accordance with safety protocols.
