Inspection Engineer and Vendor Development – Industrial Equipment

Company: Gem Drytech Systems LLP Position Title: Quality Inspection Engineer Department: Quality Assurance / Engineering Reports To: QA/QC Head or Technical Director Location: Factory (Kolkata) / Vendor Site / Customer Site

Role Purpose

To ensure that all manufactured and purchased components conform to the company's technical, dimensional, and quality standards through rigorous inspection, testing, and documentation practices.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming Material Inspection

Check and verify all received materials and bought-out items against quality parameters

2. In-Process Inspection

Conduct stage-wise inspection during fabrication, machining, and assembly

3. Final Quality Check

Ensure finished product meets drawing, specification, and functional requirements

4. Third-Party / Vendor Inspection

Coordinate with external agencies or suppliers for inspection and compliance

5. Non-Conformance Reporting

Log, report, and initiate corrective action for defects or quality issues

6. Documentation

Maintain inspection checklists, quality reports, calibration logs, and rejection notes

7. Calibration & Tool Management

Ensure regular calibration of measuring instruments and manage inspection tools

8. Safety & Compliance

9. Vendor Follow up

10. Develop New Vendors

Ensure inspection processes comply with safety standards and industry regulations

Follow up and expedite materials from vendors for timely production.

Develop new vendors regularly for Fabricaton/Machinery items (min 4 per mont

Core Competencies

• Knowledge of mechanical parts, fabrication, welding, machining, finishing standards
• Proficient in use of measuring instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, height gauge, etc.
• Understanding of GD&T, tolerances, material specs (MS, SS, Aluminum, etc.)
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 / QA standards / quality tools (5 Why, CAPA, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality standards
• Basic MS Office skills for documentation
