Quality Engineer

Position: Quality Engineer (Including Packing)
Department: Quality Assurance / Production

Job Role:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all materials, in-process items, and finished products meet defined quality standards. This includes oversight of packing processes, documentation, supplier quality, and implementing corrective measures to maintain high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities / Key Result Areas (KRA):

• Incoming Material Quality Control:
• Inspect raw materials and components.
• Ensure supplier quality compliance and approvals.
• In-Process Quality Control:
• Monitor production processes for quality adherence.
• Detect defects and prevent non-conforming products.
• Final Product Quality Assurance:
• Inspect finished goods according to standards.
• Ensure products meet First Time Right (FTR) targets.
• Packing Quality Control:
• Ensure correct packing materials and methods are used.
• Minimize damages during dispatch as per customer requirements.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Maintain QC reports, test certificates, ISO/QA documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards.
• Customer Complaint Handling:
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of complaints.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Process Improvement:
• Reduce rejections, damages, and improve yield.
• Control quality-related costs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

• Incoming Rejection Rate: % of raw materials rejected.
• In-Process Defect Rate: Number of defects per batch.
• Final Inspection Pass Rate (First Time Right): Target ≥ 98%.
• Customer Complaint Index: Number of complaints per month.
• Complaint Closure Time: Target within 7 days.
• Audit Compliance Score: Findings from internal and external audits.
• Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ): % cost due to rework, scrap, and warranty claims.
• Supplier Quality Performance: Supplier-wise defect % and corrective actions.
• Packing Damage Rate: Goods damaged during transport ≤ 1%.
• Packing Accuracy: Packing list vs. actual dispatch mismatch = 0.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO, QA/QC standards).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in packing and dispatch quality is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹14,017.78 - ₹37,594.78 per month
