Job Title: QC Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Ahmedabad
Department: Quality Control
Experience Required: 5–10 years in Mechanical / Fabrication / Manufacturing / EPC Projects

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled QC Engineer (Mechanical) to ensure all fabrication, welding, and erection activities meet the required quality standards and project specifications. The candidate should be capable of performing inspections, preparing reports, coordinating with clients and third-party inspectors, and maintaining ISO-related quality records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Witness Welder Qualification Tests (WQT) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) in accordance with ASME SEC IX.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection for fabrication and welding as per Isometric drawings.
  • Conduct and witness NDT activities (UT, PT, MPI) and prepare related reports.
  • Perform thickness surveys, line checking, punch clearing, and hydro testing witness inspections.
  • Check manufacturer’s labels, batch numbers, and ensure traceability of materials.
  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 documents and ensure compliance within the QC department.
  • Inspect and verify blasting, painting, and field inspection activities as per project standards.
  • Review fabrication record books, welding and test reports, and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, site engineers, and third-party inspection agencies (TPI) to ensure all QC requirements are met.
  • Conduct daily QC meetings to monitor progress, resolve site quality issues, and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Monitor fabrication and erection activities to ensure compliance with approved project specifications, procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain inspection records, stage-wise inspection reports, and ensure proper documentation control.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of ASME, ASTM, EN, API and related codes and standards.
  • Hands-on experience in welding inspection, NDT, fabrication, and dimensional checks.
  • Knowledge of 7 QC Tools and 5S Techniques.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 documentation practices.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and isometric diagrams.
  • Proficient in MS Office and basic AutoCAD.
  • Excellent coordination, observation, and report preparation skills.

  • B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
