Electrical/Electronics & Instrumentation (E&I)
products play a critical role in ensuring efficient, safe, and automated operations. These products are integral to the functioning, monitoring, and control of various equipment used throughout the cement manufacturing process. HT & LT Panels (High/Low Tension), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Power Distribution Boards etc.
Role
The Quality Control Engineer role at Arakkonam is responsible for ensuring that quality control processes and inspections for Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) products are conducted in accordance with industry best practices
Your Responsibilities
- Performs evaluation of potential suppliers to FLSmidth workshops secure each company's human and mechanical capability
- Performs adequate inspection of inbound material to ensure that quality standards are met
- Provides prompt effective assistance to all internal departments where knowledge of manufacturing and inspection is needed
- Supervises suppliers during manufacturing so they understand FLSmidth specifications, and in order to avoid problems during production
- Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for ensuring 100% quality through Inward Raw material, WIP, finished products and packaging material during various stages of production.
- In depth knowledge of Electrical, Electronic and Instrument testing.
- Knowledge of Robotics, Electro-Mechanical Product experience added advantage.
- Responsible for establishing the processes (IMS process and its sustenance) for ensuring the standardization of manufacturing process steps at the shop floor in terms of minimum number of deviations from quality norms in the WIP and the finished product.
- All the QA related process of training the people for quality work, SOPs for work, Systems for RIGHT FIRST TIME quality to be developed, impart training, and then demand and monitoring the compliance of processes.
- Develop and improve the supplier quality systems to meet our standards, take decisions on suppliers that are not performing.
- Leading various quality audits to ensure that the process compliance is adhered
- Ensure that only trained Electrician (Inhouse / Supplier) are put on-line for correct job and correct skill level. Initiate Govt Licence for experience Wireman is carried out.
- Responsible for evaluating customer complaints as per the quality parameters and resolving the same in minimum possible time.
What You Bring
- Strong Experience and passion for Inhouse / Supplier quality and implementing processes across the Manufacturing units.
- Electrical or EEE Engineer by qualification with 10-15 years and above experience.
- Experience in quality control/quality analysis organization or leading cross- functional quality improvement projects and teams.
- PLC Panel Testing with Siemens, Beckhoff and AB
- Strong Knowledge in Electrical and Instrument Testing
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred (green belt)
- Lead / Internal Auditor in ISO 9001:2015 standard.
- Demonstrated ability to perform well in a rapidly changing and extremely global team.
- Excellent English communication skills both written/verbal (Hindi added advantage)
- Strong critical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of breaking down a complex process and identifying key pain points in order to deliver business improvements at the regional or global level.

Education Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
5+ years of experience in quality engineering in a heavy manufacturing environment.
