Job Description

Job Title

  • Define and drive the QHSE strategy in alignment with the organizations overall vision and operational goals.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the QHSE team across multiple solar project sites (utility-scale and distributed).
  • Serve as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to overall business strategy, risk management, and compliance frameworks.

Quality Management

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) across all solar operations.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) phases.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality standards.

Health & Safety

  • Develop and enforce comprehensive occupational health and safety policies in line with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Drive a culture of safety through training, awareness campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Environmental Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations and sustainable practices across all project phases.
  • Lead environmental impact assessments and implement mitigation measures.
  • Comply with ISO 14001 and related environmental standards.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all QHSE activities comply with national and international legal requirements, industry codes, and client standards.
  • Prepare and present QHSE performance metrics, reports, and incident analyses to the executive team and board.
  • Maintain certifications and ensure external audits are successfully completed.

Team Development & Culture

  • Build and mentor a high-performing QHSE team with a proactive, prevention-focused mindset.
  • Lead training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders to build QHSE awareness and capability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's/Masters Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Certified in QHSE Management Systems (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor).
  • Minimum 20 years

    of relevant experience, including

    at least 5 years in the solar/renewable energy sector

    in a senior or leadership QHSE role.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale solar EPC or O&M projects from a QHSE perspective.
  • Deep knowledge of international HSE standards, statutory compliance requirements, and quality frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working with global teams or international solar developers/EPCs.
  • Crisis management and emergency response planning capabilities.
  • Ability to influence and lead change in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
