Python/Django Developer Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Python/Django Developer Intern to join our backend engineering team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the server-side logic, APIs, and database structures that power our telemedicine platform. This is a hands-on role ideal for recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in backend development within a healthcare-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using Python and Django.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for patient, doctor, and admin portals.
• Work with PostgreSQL/MongoDB for secure and efficient data storage.
• Integrate third-party APIs for video/audio consultations, AI modules, and healthcare data sources.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data encryption for HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with frontend (React) and mobile app development teams.
• Debug and resolve technical issues to ensure platform stability.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Python and Django framework.
• Understanding of REST API design and JSON data handling.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript for integration purposes.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub version control.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Preferred (Good to Have)

• Knowledge of Django REST Framework (DRF).
• Understanding of healthcare-related compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Exposure to Celery, Redis, or background task processing.
• Basic understanding of unit testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Job Type: Internship
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹5,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month

• Sholinganallur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
