About the Role:

As a Python FastAPI Developer at NAYAN, you will play a critical role in building, scaling, and maintaining our backend systems. You’ll work closely with our AI and product teams to develop high-performance APIs, integrate AI models, and deliver robust solutions for real-time traffic monitoring and smart city applications.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and backend services using FastAPI.

• Collaborate with AI teams to deploy computer vision and machine learning models.

• Ensure backend systems are performant, scalable, and reliable under high load.

• Actively write, review, and optimize code following best practices.

• Contribute to designing modular and scalable backend architecture.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including AI, product, and DevOps.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions.

• Ensure adherence to security standards and data privacy regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

• Experience integrating AI/ML models into backend systems.

• Knowledge of GraphQL, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures.

• Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) is a plus.

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Python (3.x) development.

• Strong experience with FastAPI (or Flask) frameworks.

• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

• Hands-on knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and caching strategies.

• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Experience with asynchronous programming and background tasks (asyncio, Celery).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Must have expertise across all of the following:

o Python (FastAPI) – primary focus

o Angular – frontend integration

o Node.js – backend services

o Ruby on Rails (RoR) – backend development

• Proficiency in RESTful API design, microservices, and databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).

• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and system design skills.
