Are you ready to contribute to cutting-edge innovation in software engineering? Blue Planet, a division of Ciena, is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer with expertise in Python development to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing and maintaining Blue Planet’s Resource Adapters (RA), device simulators, and RA generator tools within a micro-services-oriented, container-based system architecture.
How You Will Contribute:
Develop and maintain software micro-services, libraries, and features for Resource Adapters, NETCONF/YANG-based device simulators, and tools for auto-generating data models and RA pipelines.
Create automated test suites to execute test automation for RA features.
Troubleshoot and resolve product issues identified during system integration testing and customer deployments.
Collaborate closely with local and remote software development and testing teams.
Engage in all phases of the development lifecycle, including planning, designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and documenting.
The Must Haves:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science with 1+ years of software development experience.
Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, Data Structures, Algorithms, OOPs and Design patterns.
Proficiency in Python development within a Linux environment.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new languages, frameworks, and technologies.
Skilled in writing reliable, testable, and understandable code with minimal supervision.
Nice to Haves:
Knowledge of distributed platforms and stream processing using Kafka or similar systems.
Familiarity with cloud environments such as Docker, AWS, or OpenStack.
Basic understanding of NETCONF, YANG, and the telecom domain.
Fundamentals of SDN and NFV (Network Function Virtualization).
Experience interfacing with SD-WAN Controllers, NMS/EMS, or Virtualized Infrastructure Managers.
