Python Automation Engineer

About the RoleJoin our data operations team to build Python automations for OCR data extraction from FX documents in Oracle FX environments (e.g., FLEXCUBE). Focus on eliminating manual entry through scalable workflows, integrating with Oracle systems for accurate, efficient FX processing. Ideal for entry-to-mid-level developers passionate about financial automation.Key Responsibilities

• Develop Python scripts for OCR extraction from FX docs (e.g., trade confirmations, SWIFT messages) using libraries like PyTesseract, OpenCV, and Pandas.
• Create automation workflows with Airflow or Celery to ingest, process, and validate data, reducing manual work by 80%+.
• Integrate extracted data with Oracle FX via APIs (e.g., REST, cx_Oracle) for seamless updates.
• Clean and normalize data for FX compliance (e.g., ISO 20022), with error handling for edge cases.
• Collaborate with teams to deploy pipelines in cloud (AWS/Oracle Cloud) and monitor via basic tools.
• Optimize scripts, document processes, and identify automation improvements.
• Ensure data privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, or related (or equivalent).
• 2+ years in Python development, focusing on data processing and automation.
• Experience with OCR tools (e.g., Tesseract, pdfplumber) and image processing (e.g., OpenCV).
• Familiarity with ETL workflows and Oracle integration (e.g., SQLAlchemy).
• Proficiency in Pandas/NumPy, Git, and basic cloud services.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills for fast-paced teams.
