Purchasing Officer

As a Purchase Officer at the fast-growing diagnostics company based in Bangalore, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of state-of-the-art labs across the Gulf region. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the procurement process efficiently, maintain optimal stock levels, and oversee vendor relationships. - Verify stock levels, approve indents, and process Purchase Orders (PO) within specified timelines. - Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials and verify quality and quantity against Goods Receipt Note (GRN). - Work closely with Quality Control (QC) team, Lab Managers, and vendors for disposal or returns when necessary. - Track stock levels, stock value, and maintain buffer stock to minimize stock-outs. - Improve cost per test (CPRT) for all parameters and monitor expiry dates following the First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) method. - Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Purchase, Inventory, Returns, Disposal, Transfers, Sales, and Internal Consumption across the GCC region. - Monitor reagents and consumables wastage, maintain accurate purchase records, and coordinate procurement schedules with Lab Managers. To excel in this position, you must possess: - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Strong analytical abilities and commercial awareness. - Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with vendors. - High standard of numeracy to analyze data effectively. - Ability to influence and persuade. - Experience in the diagnostics industry and knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.
