Purchase & sourcing Manager

Education Qualifications :

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Production or Industrial Engineering.
• Ensures strong understanding of motors, components and technical drawings.
• MBA/PG Diploma in supply Chain/Materials Management
• Certification - SAP/MM, Oracle ERP

APICS/CIPS/IIMM diploma for global sourcing

Experience Requirement

• 8-12 yrs total experience in purchase & sourcing with 3-5 yrs in a managerial role.
• Industry Focus :

Motors ,pumps, electrical equipment, auto components or precision manufacturing.

Must know how to source :

• Raw materials -

  CR/HR/GI sheets, copper wire, aluminum castings, magnets.

• Bought out parts :

  Bearings, shafts ,fasteners, insulation, housings.

• Processes :

  Plating, Anodizing, powder coating, machine, winding.

Key Skills :

• Strategic sourcing & supplier base development.
• Price trend analysis (copper, steel ,alloys)
• Strong negotiation & contact management.
• Cross functional leadership
• crisis management

Role :

• Develop & manage approved vendor list for all critical motor components.
• Achieve 5-10 % cost saving through negotiation and alternate sourcing.
• Ensure 100% on time delivery of materials to production.
• Build import sourcing channels for cost sensitive items.
• Maintain inventory optimization
• Lead a team of buyers/purchase officers.
