Purchase Officer

We are looking for a smart and experienced Purchase Officer to manage the procurement of raw materials, solvents, intermediates, and packaging materials used in the manufacturing of food, drug, and cosmetic colours. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of the chemical industry, vendor coordination, inventory control, and cost-effective buying strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Source and purchase raw materials, solvents, intermediates, dyes, and packaging items for production of food colours, pharma dyes & cosmetic pigments.

2.Identify and develop reliable vendors for quality materials at competitive pricing.

3.Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs), maintain PO tracking and delivery schedules.

4.Monitor stock levels in coordination with the stores and production departments.

5.Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.

6.Maintain procurement-related documentation and records for audits and compliance.

7.Ensure materials meet required quality specifications, MSDS, COAs.

8.Coordinate with the accounts department for invoice processing and payments.

9.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market rates, import duties, and industry trends.

10.Handle urgent material requirements, breakdown supplies, and alternate sourcing.

Industry-Specific Focus:

1.Familiarity with FSSAI/FDA-grade raw materials, food-grade packaging

2.Knowledge of regulatory documents like COA, MSDS, BIS standards for colours

3.Understanding of chemical handling, storage compliance, and batch traceability

4.Experience in sourcing items like:

5.Food colours raw materials (dyes, lake powders)

6.Pharma excipients

7.Cosmetic-grade raw materials

8.Solvents (IPA, Ethanol, Acetone, etc.)

9.Packaging (HDPE, LDPE, bottles, drums, labels)

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
