Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Purchase Manager with 3-4 years' experience in the Defence Electronics sector, located in Chennai. The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement of electronic components and materials, especially RF components, PCBs, connectors, and mechanical assemblies. Daily tasks include vendor management, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining accurate procurement records, and collaborating with engineering teams to understand their requirements. If you’ve worked with GeM, PSU/DRDO procurement, and ERP systems, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure electronic, RF, PCB, and mechanical parts.

• Manage vendor evaluation, negotiation, and delivery schedules.

• Handle GeM portal, GFR norms, and procurement documentation.

• Coordinate with engineering, production, and stores teams.

• Support import logistics, customs clearance & ERP inventory tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electronics, or a related field like Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• 3–4 years’ experience in procurement/supply chain (Defence/Aerospace preferred).
• Knowledge of defence-grade components and vendor ecosystem.
• Proficiency in ERP (Odoo/SAP/Oracle).
• Experience in procurement and vendor management
• Knowledge of electronic components and materials
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping abilities
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams and understand technical requirements
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

• Exposure to BEL/DRDO/Defence PSU vendor ecosystem.
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 processes.
