Purchase Engineer

Qualifications:

• B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  
• 3 to 7 years of experience in Procurement / Purchase
  
• Good communication and negotiation skills
  
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes (P2P, B2B in MRO preferred)
  
• Experience in industrial product categories is a plus
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and source suppliers/vendors for MRO and industrial goods
  
• Negotiate cost-effective contracts and ensure timely procurement
  
• Coordinate with sales teams and managers for BOQ verification
  
• Generate and share quotations with Sales Account Managers within TAT
  
• Maintain and update purchase records, vendor data, and inventory
  
• Regularly inspect stock, identify faults or inconsistencies, and take timely action
  
• Plan material requirements and improve delivery timelines
  
• Monitor all purchase orders daily to avoid escalations
  
• Develop and manage vendor relationships to improve pricing and product availability
  
• Ensure margin improvements by negotiating with vendors/distributors
  
• Handle procurement across multiple categories, including but not limited to:
  
• Raw Materials, Housekeeping Supplies, IT & Office Equipment
  
• Safety, Gifting, Medical Devices, Hardware, Fasteners, Lubrication
  
• Electrical & Mechanical Tools, Welding, HVAC, Firefighting, Power Transmission
  
• Pipe Fitting, Bearings, Test Instruments, Telecom, and more
  

Skills Required:

• Strong understanding of procurement cycles and vendor negotiation
  
• Good analytical and research skills
  
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant tools
