Purchase Executive

Key Responsibilities -

Purchase & Procurement

Vendor Relationships:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback for improvement.

Procurement Processes:

  • Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations, ensuring timely and accurate order placement.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock.

Negotiation:

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.
  • Ensure contracts align with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Market Analysis:

  • Stay updated on market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Research and onboard new suppliers to diversify the supply base.

Cost Management:

  • Implement cost-saving initiatives, such as bulk purchasing and supplier consolidation.
  • Track budgets and ensure expenditures align with financial goals.

Certification & Compliance

  • Ensure purchased goods comply with national and international regulatory standards, such as FSSAI, HACCP, or ISO.
  • Maintain proper documentation and assist in certification processes as required.
  • Support internal audits to verify compliance with organizational policies.

Team Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate with warehouse, operations, and finance teams to streamline procurement activities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Assist in training team members on procurement policies and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Strong knowledge of vendor management and basic contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards like ISO, HACCP, and FSSAI is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software/tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
