Public Relations Executive

We are seeking a professional with a minimum of two years of experience in Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing Communications, preferably with exposure to the education sector or experience covering education as a beat for national media.

This role involves promoting CMR University and the Ekya Schools. Familiarity with the K–12 and higher education landscape is essential. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are a must, and if you have a flair for storytelling, even better!

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies to promote CMR University's initiatives, achievements, and events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with department heads, media professionals, journalists, and key stakeholders.
• Draft press releases, prepare media kits, and other communication materials to effectively convey CMR University's key messages.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare reports to evaluate PR campaign effectiveness.
• Assist in organizing press conferences, interviews, and campus tours for media representatives.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align PR initiatives with the university’s strategic goals.
• Respond to media enquiries and manage crisis communications professionally.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and adopt best practices in PR and communications.
• Identify opportunities for feature stories, opinion pieces, and authored articles.
• Identify branding opportunities for department heads and senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a PR agency, educational institution, or in an editorial role covering the education sector.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in English and Kannada is essential.
• Proven track record of managing media relations and securing coverage.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Able to work independently and comfortable with travel across campuses and media offices.
• Familiarity with influencer marketing and digital PR is an added advantage.
