About Us

Second Circle Project Foundation is a registered not-for-profit organisation licensed under

Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 and Rule 18 of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules,

2014 by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. We are focused on creating a community-based, and rights affirming post diagnosis support for the People Living with HIV (PLHIV) in India. Our special emphasis is on mental health, emotional well-being, and systematic policy advocacy.

Even though the HIV and AIDS (Prevention and Control) Act, 2017 prohibits discrimination, many individuals still face unfair treatment while applying for health and life insurance. We are preparing to approach the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi through a writ petition/public interest litigation on this issue.

We are looking for 2–3 students to support our ongoing research for this litigation. The work will involve reviewing government reports, policies, laws, guidelines and available studies related to HIV and insurance. This will be a good opportunity for students who want practical exposure to rights-based work, policy analysis and development sector research.

Responsibilities

• Review policy documents, government reports and regulatory guidelines

• Assist in analysing laws and directives related to insurance and HIV

• Support background research for the writ petition

• Prepare briefs, summaries and notes as required

• Coordinate with the team and external stakeholders

Who Can Apply

• Students from Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, Sociology, Economics and other related fields

• Strong interest in social development and policy issues

• Good writing and research skills
