Job Title: Public Policy & Government Relations Intern

Role Overview

The Public Policy & Government Relations Intern will support the organisation’s policy research, advocacy initiatives, and stakeholder engagement efforts. This role is ideal for someone interested in public policy, government affairs, and regulatory processes, with strong analytical and communication skills. The intern will work closely with the policy team and business leaders to contribute to submissions, briefs, and internal knowledge building.


Key Responsibilities


1. Policy Research & Analysis

  • Track and summarise government policies, regulations, and legislative developments relevant to the organisation’s focus areas.
  • Assist in preparing policy briefs, background notes, and impact assessments.
  • Help maintain a repository of key policy documents, government notifications, and analytical insights.


2. Stakeholder Engagement Support

  • Assist in mapping relevant government ministries, regulators, industry associations, and think tanks.
  • Support the preparation of organisation inputs for consultations, working groups, and public hearings.
  • Help draft submissions, position notes, and briefing materials for stakeholder meetings.


3. Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal teams to collect technical and operational inputs for policy submissions.
  • Help translate internal inputs into clear, policy‑friendly narratives.
  • Support regular communication to internal teams on policy updates, risks, and opportunities.


4. Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain trackers for government schemes, policy timelines, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Assist in compiling reports on policy engagement, including submissions, meetings, and events.


5. Knowledge Sharing

  • Support organisation of internal awareness sessions on evolving policy and regulatory landscapes.
  • Help identify relevant trainings, workshops, or external policy events beneficial for team development.


Qualifications


  • Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor’s/master’s degree in public policy

    , Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or related fields

    .
  • Strong interest in public policy, government affairs, regulatory frameworks, or industry advocacy.
  • Good analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple tasks.
