Project/ Site Engineer

Designation: Site In-Charge – Civil Engineer (Interior Projects)
Department: Project Execution / Site Operations
Reporting to: Project Manager / Project Head
Location: Project Site

Role Objective

To act as the key engineering authority at site, responsible for independently managing, coordinating, and executing all civil and interior works as per approved drawings, timelines, and quality standards. The role demands strong technical, managerial, and coordination skills with a deep understanding of interior finishing works.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Leadership & Execution

• Take complete ownership of day-to-day civil and interior works execution at site.
• Implement construction and interior works (partitioning, ceiling, flooring, painting, furniture fixing, plumbing, lighting, etc.) in accordance with approved GFC and interior design drawings.
• Ensure smooth coordination among all on-site teams, including civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and finishing contractors.

2. Technical Supervision & Quality Control

• Interpret and explain plans and specifications to contractors and workers.
• Maintain quality assurance across all activities — civil structures, false ceilings, wall cladding, modular furniture, etc.
• Check alignment, levels, measurements, and finishing standards with strict adherence to specifications and aesthetics.

3. Planning & Progress Monitoring

• Prepare and monitor site execution schedule in line with master project timeline.
• Track daily and weekly progress, highlight delays or critical bottlenecks to Project Manager.
• Maintain work progress reports, manpower deployment records, and site diaries.

4. Resource & Material Management

• Manage inventory and consumption of construction and interior materials such as cement, sand, tiles, gypsum, MDF/HDHMR, laminates, hardware, lights, etc.
• Coordinate for timely delivery of approved materials and raise procurement indent as per site requirement.
• Ensure minimum wastage and proper material stacking.

5. Vendor & Labour Coordination

• Manage and supervise sub-contractors, skilled labour, and vendors to ensure timely work completion.
• Verify and certify measurements and work completion for subcontractor billing.
• Ensure proper workflow and discipline at the site.

6. Client & Consultant Interface

• Act as the single point of contact for all site matters with client representatives, architects, and consultants.
• Attend site meetings, highlight technical/site constraints, and implement decisions as per approvals.
• Maintain high standards of client interaction and responsiveness.

7. Health, Safety & Site Cleanliness

• Enforce safety protocols and ensure a hazard-free working environment.
• Implement safety measures during ceiling work, electrical installation, glass fitting, etc.
• Maintain site cleanliness and housekeeping standards throughout the project duration.

8. Project Closure & Handover

• Conduct snagging and de-snagging, ensure all punch list items are resolved before handover.
• Assist in preparing As-Built drawings, O&M manuals, and final work completion certification.
• Ensure final handover meets all technical and aesthetic expectations of the client.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 1+ years of site execution experience, especially in interior fit-out projects.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, interior, and MEP drawings.
• Familiar with interior materials, BOQ specifications, and vendor coordination.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and project tracking tools preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
