Job Description

Position:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of banking/fintech projects: from initiation, planning, execution, deployment, to post-go-live support.
  • Act as the primary interface between the bank-client, internal product/engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive project governance: schedule, budget, scope, risk & issue tracking, change management, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Ensure alignment of delivery with product architecture, regulatory requirements, banking domain best practices.
  • Manage resource planning (onshore/offshore), coordinate multiple streams/sub-projects where applicable.
  • Monitor project health and metrics, produce progress status reports, highlight escalations and drive corrective actions.
  • Facilitate meetings with senior stakeholders, present dashboards, ensure clear communication of project status and deliverables.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies in delivery.
  • Ensure handover to operations/support teams, manage transitional activities and client-acceptance sign-off.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology / Business (or equivalent).
  • 9 to 15 years of total work experience, with at least 5+ years in project management role.
  • Strong domain experience in banking / financial services (e.g., core banking, transaction banking, payments, trade, cash/liquidity).
  • Proven track record of managing complex client implementationspreferably for banks or financial institutions.
  • Experience working in product-based fintech environments (not just pure IT services) is highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of SDLC (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum) and hands-on experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, team leadership, communication (verbal & written) skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, scope, and to drive delivery under pressure.
  • Risk, issue and change management experience.
  • Familiarity with compliance/regulatory aspects relevant to banking projects (e.g., data security, audit trails).
  • Willingness to work from the Siruseri/Chennai office location as required.

Preferred / Advantageous Skills

  • Formal certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner (ScrumMaster / AgilePM).
  • Experience in cloud-native, API-led architectures, microservices, digital transformation initiatives.
  • Prior exposure to global delivery environments, offshore teams, multi-geography coordination.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Prior experience with vendor/third-party coordination and product implementation rather than just services.
