Job Description

Area(s) of responsibility
Core ResponsibilitiesSystem Administration

Perform L2-level troubleshooting for Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
Manage disk space, patching, and OS-level diagnostics.
Monitor CPU, memory, and disk health using tools like Nagios, Grafana, and SolarWinds.

Security & Compliance

Implement system hardening and firewall configurations.
Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external standards.
Maintain logs and documentation for audits and RCA.

Virtualization & Cloud Integration

Administer virtual servers and containers (KVM, Docker).
Support hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure) with Linux workloads.
Configure and maintain high availability and disaster recovery setups.

Automation & Scripting

Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation tasks.
Integrate with tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
Support deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows.

Backup & Recovery

Monitor and manage backup jobs using tools like TSM, Veeam, or native Linux utilities.
Perform restore operations and validate backup integrity.
Maintain cloud infrastructure and database backups.
