What You'll Do
Eaton is hiring Program Manager. This Role is responsible for the successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), and Technology Exploration Projects primarily focused on embedded firmware and software (on prem and cloud with Web UI and Mobile) development for Life Safety products. The role aims to drive customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and program financial performance by managing software-centric programs, contracts, and business relationships. Responsibilities include maintaining ongoing communication with cross-functional global teams to track schedules, milestones, and deliverables, and providing comprehensive project visibility through dashboards and reports.

Job Responsibilities:
- Led complex software and firmware NPI/NTI projects with full Responsibility, Authority, and Accountability (RAA) for scope, schedule, cost, and quality across the division.
- Drive and coach Agile scrum teams, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and practices, and fostering a culture of continuous integration, test automation, and iterative delivery.
- Define technical objectives and guide teams in managing customer requirements, scope changes, and risk mitigation strategies specific to software and firmware development.
- Manage effective customer communications, particularly around software release cycles, firmware updates, and feature roadmaps. Ensure alignment with contractual obligations and internal expectations.
- Implement standard software program management processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management. Coordinate program reviews and publish KPIs such as velocity, defect density, and release burn-down charts.
- Maintain metrics for earned value (CPI/SPI), code quality, test coverage, and delivery performance across all development phases.
- Coordinate software and firmware project risks and requirements by integrating development, validation, and deployment activities. Ensure traceability and compliance with safety-critical standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262).
- Provide periodic updates (e.g., Program Status Reports Green/Yellow/Red) on milestone progress, challenges, and risk areas. Communicate effectively with business units and divisional leadership.
- Facilitate stakeholder and team communications, ensuring responsiveness to evolving customer needs and internal change requests. Apply robust change management practices for software scope and architecture evolution.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a software development scorecard to track team performance and product maturity.
- Identify and deploy reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Git dashboards) for tracking project status, sprint progress, and release readiness.
- Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure embedded software and firmware components are aligned with hardware platforms and support scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Preferred to have PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Good to have Scrum Master certification
- 810 years of progressive experience in program or project management, with a strong focus on software and embedded systems.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional global teams across product, engineering, QA, and operations.
- Experience managing end-to-end lifecycle of programs, from concept to release and post-launch support
- Experience working with teams developing Digital Solutions
- Strong tactical, strategic thinking, problem solving skills, and leadership
- Strong presentation skills.
