About Job Role:

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with more than 10 years of research experience and a proven track record of significant scholarly contributions in the specified field. The appointed candidate will be responsible for developing an internationally competitive research program within the specified domain, aiming for excellence in scientific output at the global level. The candidate is expected to actively support and foster national and international research collaborations. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit a multidisciplinary approach and a strong willingness to collaborate closely with other researchers and CoEs at GUNI. Applicants should already have a strong research profile or demonstrate clear potential to establish one. The candidate is primarily focused on conducting high-impact research, securing external research funding, mentoring students and young faculty researchers, publishing scholarly work, and contributing to the university’s research excellence and innovation ecosystem. The appointment is expected to start immediately.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop internationally competitive, externally funded collaborative research programs which are at the forefront of the specified field and align with institutional priorities, ensuring it meets the global / national standards.
• Strengthen the existing research programs while bringing complementary and/or new expertise to the research group.
• Present research findings at prestigious academic conferences, symposiums, and workshops and publish high-quality research articles in leading peer-reviewed national and international journals, monographs, and conference proceedings.
• Develop and lead a dynamic research group within the institution and foster an environment of research excellence and academic rigor
• Mentor junior faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D. scholars, master's students and other emerging researchers.
• Design and contribute to advanced-level academic courses where relevant, based on research expertise.
• Conduct specialized workshops, training programs, and seminars for students and faculty.
• Secure competitive research funding from state / central government departments, industries, and international agencies by preparing and submitting high quality research proposals.
• Engage with industry, academic institutions, and government research laboratories and establish strong national and international research collaborations and partnerships to promote applied and translational research.
• Collaborate closely with other researchers and research units within GUNI to promote interdisciplinary research.
• Contribute actively to the development of institutional research strategies, policies, and initiatives.

Educational Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (Science, Pharmacy, Engineering & Technology, Computer Science, Agriculture / Food Sciences, Healthcare, Management & Social Sciences, etc.) from a recognized university.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years post-PhD research experience in academia, research institutes, or industry.
• Proven track record of research publications in reputed indexed journals (Scopus / Web of Science / SCI) or Patents filed/granted, technologies developed, or startup involvement.
• Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and manage funded projects.

Desirable Attributes:

• Prior experience in supervising Ph.D. or postgraduate students is preferred.
• Experience in interdisciplinary or translational research.
• International research exposure or postdoctoral experience.
