Job Purpose: Hiring for Professor (Law)

The Professor of Law will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate law courses, supervising research scholars, contributing to curriculum development, engaging in high-quality research and publications, and providing academic leadership to the department. The role also involves fostering partnerships with the legal profession, judiciary, and regulatory bodies, while contributing to the overall growth of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in core and specialized areas of law.
  • Develop innovative teaching methodologies, case studies, and practical learning exercises.
  • Guide students on moot courts, legal aid clinics, internships, and practical training.
  • Supervise LL.M. dissertations and Ph.D. research scholars.

2. Research & Publications

  • Undertake independent and collaborative research in relevant areas of law.
  • Publish high-quality research papers, articles, and books in reputed journals and publishing houses.
  • Present research at national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Seek research grants and funding from external agencies.

3. Academic Administration

  • Assist in designing, reviewing, and upgrading the law curriculum in line with regulatory guidelines (UGC, BCI, NAAC, etc.).
  • Mentor junior faculty members and contribute to faculty development.
  • Serve on academic and administrative committees within the university.
  • Contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and institutional ranking processes.

4. Professional Engagement

  • Build linkages with the Bar, Bench, corporate legal departments, and NGOs for student training and placements.
  • Provide consultancy and expert legal opinions where required.
  • Engage in community service through legal awareness and aid programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Law from a recognized university (mandatory as per UGC/BCI norms).
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching and research experience in a university/college, with a proven record of high-quality publications.
  • Evidence of successful Ph.D. supervision.
  • Strong academic and professional standing in the field of law.
