Production Head

Location:

Basic Mission:

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and oversee production planning sheets considering job size, fabrication teams, delivery dates, holidays, and drawing release dates.
• Coordinate with Sales, Execution, Design and CNC departments to ensure smooth execution and on-time delivery.
• Manage contractor relationships: track manpower, productivity, payments, negotiations, replacements, and maintain a contractor database.
• Oversee outside fabrication (fabrication, machining, sandblasting, powder coating, bending, cutting) negotiate rates and ensure quality and delivery.
• Drive process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and identify machines/tools to improve productivity and quality.
• Implement training plans, identify skill gaps, plan external/internal training and deliver knowledge transfer.
• Approve payment sheets (contractors, welders, outside services).
• Manage and resolve production issues (machine breakdowns, absenteeism, space constraints, contractor stoppages).

Desired Core Competencies & Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of fabrication techniques and production planning.
• Ability to read & interpret manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D & 3D.
• Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma concepts.
• Strong team leadership, problem-solving, communication and training skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.Tech / BE (Mechanical). MBA preferred.
• 810 years’ relevant experience in machinery or fabrication manufacturing.
• Experience managing a departmental team (20+ excluding shop-floor workers) with multi-level hierarchy.

Other:

• Focus on automation and developing semi/full automated production lines.
