Production Chemist Specialist in cosmetic

Job Summary:

Production Chemist (Cosmetics Specialist)

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day production of cosmetic and personal care products (skin care, hair care, toiletries).
• Execute batch manufacturing as per approved formulations and SOPs.
• Monitor raw material dispensing, weighing, and batch processing.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, safety, and hygiene standards in the production area.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for in-process checks and final product approval.
• Maintain batch manufacturing records (BMR), logbooks, and production reports.
• Identify and resolve production issues related to formulation, stability, or process.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
• Support scale-up activities from lab to bulk production.
• Ensure proper cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of equipment.
• Train production staff and operators on SOPs and safety practices.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong knowledge of cosmetic raw materials, formulations, and processes.
• Experience in manufacturing creams, lotions, serums, shampoos, face washes, gels, and oils.
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and cosmetic regulatory standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot production and quality-related issues.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.

Qualifications:

• B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry or Diploma in Cosmetic Science.
• Hands-on experience in cosmetic manufacturing is mandatory.
