The Product Owner role at Toppan Merrill is a pivotal position that necessitates collaboration across various departments including development, shared services, operations, sales and marketing, and finance. Your role will involve influencing stakeholders to align priorities, fostering shared understanding, and delivering cohesive product solutions to support strategic objectives. Specifically, you will focus on a SaaS digital experience platform. Collaborating closely with a Senior Product Owner, you will be instrumental in establishing Agile Scrum discipline in a domain that is new to this methodology. More important than subject matter expertise is your ability to drive Agile adoption, define and prioritize requirements, maintain a robust backlog, and support iterative delivery. You will be actively engaged in sprint cycles, guiding product delivery from concept to execution to achieve tangible business value. Your responsibilities will include defining and evolving product strategy in partnership with operations, sales and marketing, and executive leadership based on customer needs and market analysis. Additionally, you will own and maintain the Jira backlog, ensuring grooming, prioritization, and structuring of Epics and Stories for effective sprint planning. Your proficiency in using Jira will enable you to connect backlog execution to the broader roadmap forecasts and Agile Scrum-based targets, enhancing visibility and planning. As the Product Owner, you will lead various Scrum ceremonies such as backlog refinement sessions, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Reviews. Your active involvement in workshopping backlog items during ceremonies will ensure delivery readiness and stakeholder alignment. Moreover, you will play a key role in facilitating the adoption of Agile Scrum principles and practices by stakeholders and legacy development teams. Furthermore, you will collaborate on non-dev initiatives like business process re-engineering, training, client demos, and stakeholder requests with sales, service, and operations teams. Your coordination with fellow Product Owners will aim to standardize practices across domains while accommodating necessary deviations for business alignment. To excel in this role, you should possess a proven ability to lead the adoption and implementation of Agile Scrum discipline, especially in environments new to the methodology. Your track record should demonstrate your capability in driving customer discovery, defining product vision, scoping features, and delivering impactful business software solutions. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, and excellent communication abilities are essential for success in this position. Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's Degree required; advanced technical degree is a plus - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master in mission-critical software, with a preference for candidates with SDLC project management, software engineering, or UX backgrounds - Experience with IaaS/SaaS/PaaS/cloud product development is advantageous - Scrum Alliance/SAFe or Scrum.org certifications are beneficial Working at Toppan Merrill offers you the opportunity to help establish policies, disciplines, and organizational structures that support optimal Agile Scrum productivity and long-term team success.
