In this role as a Product Order Engineer in the Bill of Materials team called Order Engineering at Emerson, based in FCEC Chennai, India, you will provide technical and order engineering support for all Emerson Flow Control products to meet customer requirements. The team values autonomy, self-reliance, and a passion for robust and maintainable tests to ensure the delivery of a quality product. Your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing incoming orders (commercial and technical) according to established guidelines/requirements. - Checking requirements in specification sheets against the technical information in OEDI/II and Bulletins for product versus service compatibility. - Verifying that required options are compatible with the selected options. - Creating or updating product structures to meet the required construction. - Submitting requests for engineering and/or part number setup. - Raising Internal Order Requisitions (IOR) to factories. - Providing timely responses to factory inquiries. - Assuming the role of Order Engineering coordinator for large project orders. - Interacting with Sales/LBP (Local Business Partners) regarding technical queries. - Providing ad hoc support as Checker for less/medium complex projects. - Supporting Department targets to reduce Order Engineering lead times and Backlog. To excel in this role, you will need: - Basic engineering knowledge and an understanding of technical products (Fisher lineup), Oracle application, and other Microsoft applications. - Developing and presenting innovative solutions for problems. - Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering and dimensional drawings. - Basic Fisher Product knowledge, proficiency in MS Office, and good communication skills.
