Product Manager

As a Product Manager, you will work collaboratively with designers, researchers, and engineering teams to develop impactful and innovative solutions related to K-12 education. You will develop market knowledge and build a deep understanding of the needs of K-12 education stakeholders.

Essential job functions include:

• Work collaboratively with instructional designers, assessment designers, research scientists, UX designers, and engineering teams to develop impactful and innovative solutions related to K-12 education.
• Develop and maintain expert knowledge about K-12 educational markets including market trends and competitor offerings.
• Build a deep understanding of the needs of K-12 education stakeholders, especially around translating data into actionable insights.
• Be comfortable discussing curriculum, instruction, assessment, and data with experts and laypeople.
• Investigate facts and review problems during design and planning phases.
• Translate solutions into detailed requirements and acceptance criteria for the engineering teams.
• Prioritize product enhancements and maintenance activities within the product backlog.
• Provide training and documentation on product updates to internal teams.
• Ensure compliance: design and acceptance criteria reflect compliance requirements (such as COPPA/FERPA requirements and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility)
• Break initiatives into small, testable releases; ensure each slice has clear scope, target dates, owners, and acceptance criteria.
• Balance new value with maintenance/tech debt; monitor defects/regressions and address root causes.
• Triage production issues and defects with clear severity levels and response targets; keep all related stakeholders updated on status and ETAs.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

• Bachelors degree in psychology, education, sales, marketing, business, or similar field
• 7+ years of experience in product management or equivalent experience in a similar role
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with experts and laypeople
• Excellent organizational, time and project management skills; ability to effectively multi-task while meeting deadlines.
• Strategic ability: anticipate future opportunities and consequences, demonstrated innovative approach to work.
• Ability to work independently but also operate efficiently and effectively within a collaborative team environment.
