Product Development Support Manager

A leading manufacturer of precision tools for engineering of micro / nano structures is now seeking a Product Development Support Manager to join their Senior Management Team in Bristol.Your key objective is to lead the team that resolves day-to-day technology issues which impact on and are identified by, our Operations and Service Teams. You will develop and manage a team of experts; a core part of your role will be developing solid working relationships with other functions in our business.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the existing IDG Kanban system which allows scheduling and management of all submitted technical issues. Using the Kanban or a modified form of the same, you will agree a prioritisation and delivery schedule with Operations and Service Departments. Create strong relationships between your team and Operations, Service and other key functions. Ensure that the body of technical “know-how” within the working group is shared, and constantly increasing. Educate your team and other functions on key problem-solving methodologies. Organise, resource and develop your team in order to achieve objectives, strategies and long-term plans, ensuring your team have the appropriate skills to deliver the necessary solutions. Work with other Senior Managers to identify root cause of repeat issues and aid in the development of business processes which prevent re-occurrence. Drive the effective performance of the company’s health, safety and environment management systems. You will be accountable for effective implementation, and leading continuous improvement within, the health, safety and environment frameworks.

Experience

As the successful Product Development Support Manager you will have a proven track record in managing manufacturing and product development teams. You should have direct experience of working within the Semiconductor Capital Equipment Market.

Qualifications

Ideally, in addition to your strong technical background you will hold a Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
