Product Development Merchandiser

You are a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Development Merchandiser with 36 years of experience in the home textiles industry. Your role involves supporting the end-to-end product development cycle from concept to final approval. Your responsibilities include: - Assisting in developing home textile products like Kitchen Linens, Table Runners, Aprons, Upholstery, Glove, bedding, cushions, curtains, table linens, etc., based on market trends and customer briefs. - Coordinating with mills/suppliers for sourcing appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories. Understanding various fabric types, constructions, and finishes. - Managing sample requests, ensuring timely development and dispatch, and following up with suppliers, design, and production teams for approvals and revisions. - Assisting in preparing preliminary cost sheets, coordinating with sourcing teams for competitive pricing, maintaining product specs, creating tech packs, and updating internal records and trackers. - Communicating with domestic and international vendors for sample timelines, order updates, and quality feedback. - Monitoring trends in home furnishings and competitor products to contribute ideas for new developments. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelors degree in Textile Design, Fashion Merchandising, Home Furnishings, or a related field. - 3-6 years of experience in merchandising/product development, ideally in home textiles. - Basic knowledge of fabric types (woven, printed, embroidered, etc.) and textile processing. - Ability to interpret tech packs and design specifications. - Strong communication and coordination skills. - Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.,
