Job Description

As a Product Manager in Global Product Management for Compressors at ELGi, your role involves creating a global product roadmap for Oil-Free Portable air compressors. This includes considering end customer and distributor needs, industry trends, and competition insights. You will drive product development based on product strategy and new opportunities identified, supporting the sales team by launching new products and enhancing existing ones with Compelling Value Propositions (C-VAP) to successfully position ELGi products in the market. Additionally, you will be the global expert for the products assigned to you. Your key responsibilities include: - **Opportunity Management**: - Perform market and application studies, as well as competition benchmarking to identify new opportunities. - Analyze business potential towards revenue targets, technical feasibility, and statutory requirements. - Present the business case to the leadership team based on your findings. - **Product Initiation & Development**: - Develop a product roadmap to introduce new products and enhance existing ones to stay ahead of the competition. - Capture Voice of Customer (VoC) and work with stakeholders to develop effective product specifications. - Determine target product positioning, pricing, and prioritize products based on business objectives. - Develop business cases for product development approval. - **Product Launch**: - Ensure technical documents and sales materials are available for new product launches. - Prepare sales documents, pitch materials, and training content. - Support marketing communications to effectively convey product value propositions. - **Product Support**: - Provide engineering solutions to regional product managers/sales for non-standard inquiries. - **Business Monitoring**: - Monitor sales trends of new products and conduct comparative studies with initial business projections. - Analyze lost orders to competition and provide suitable solutions. - Support continuous improvement of product management systems. In terms of qualifications, you are expected to have a Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, with an MBA in marketing/sales being preferred. You should possess 7-14 years of experience in product management or sales of industrial products, or experience in compressor product development with exposure to sales and marketing. Strong market research and business acumen skills, data-driven decision-making ability, strategic thinking, and teamwork skills are essential. Experience in compressors or industrial machinery, managing product lifecycles, and engineering, business development, and sales/data analysis is beneficial. Your role may involve 30-50% travel, and you will work in a collaborative environment with local and global stakeholders, diverse professionals, and various functions across the organization.,
