Job Description

As a Procurement Officer, your primary responsibility will be to source and purchase goods, materials, and services in order to ensure the efficient operation of the organization. You will be tasked with negotiating contracts, evaluating suppliers, and securing cost-effective procurement solutions while upholding quality standards and compliance with company policies. Your duties will include identifying and assessing labor, suppliers, vendors, and contractors, obtaining competitive quotes, and negotiating favorable terms. It will be crucial for you to ensure the timely procurement of necessary goods and services to support the operations effectively. A key aspect of your role will involve managing relationships with suppliers by establishing and maintaining strong connections, monitoring their performance, and addressing any issues that may arise. You will also be responsible for evaluating and onboarding new suppliers based on their quality and reliability. In addition, you will need to analyze procurement costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that all purchases align with budgetary constraints. Keeping track of market trends to optimize spending will be essential in this position. Your responsibilities will extend to drafting, reviewing, and managing procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies, and effectively managing risks and mitigating supplier-related issues. Collaborating with inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels and coordinating with logistics for the timely delivery of goods will also be part of your role. Maintaining accurate procurement records, generating reports on spending, supplier performance, and savings, as well as ensuring proper documentation for audits and compliance will be critical in this role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. Strong negotiation and communication skills, knowledge of procurement software, analytical abilities, and an understanding of contract law and vendor compliance are also required. This is a full-time office-based role with occasional supplier visits that may involve travel for vendor meetings and negotiations. A requirement for this position includes the ownership of a 2-wheeler and smartphone. The benefits associated with this role include cell phone reimbursement and leave encashment. A diploma is required for education, and the work location is in Calicut, Kerala. Willingness to travel is preferred, and the work environment is in person.,
