Procurement Engineer- Import Export

Role Overview: As a Plant Procurement Specialist at Oetiker, your main focus will be on selecting technical items, managing vendors, and ensuring timely and quality supplies for plant operations. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in supporting basic export-import activities, handling import orders, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with customs and logistics teams as necessary. Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for entire purchase activities related to Plant Mechanical Spares, press tools, consumables, and maintenance equipment - Prepare purchase orders (POs) in SAP and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Service Contracts - Manage the supplier base, develop new suppliers, and strengthen existing relationships - Review and ensure vendor performance to ensure contract fulfillment and internal customer satisfaction - Negotiate services from vendors in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality, delivery, and project priority - Build trust-based, service-oriented relationships with suppliers, internal customers, teammates, and cross-functional departments - Take a proactive approach to resolve issues with vendors, manage inventories, and maintain safety stocks - Review and strive for continuous improvement of vendor performance in terms of quality, cost, delivery, consistency, and responsiveness - Perform Value Added Analysis to reduce wastages and optimize supply chain processes - Coordinate with other departments like stores, logistics, quality, production, planning, design, accounts, and counterpart of sister entities - Develop and execute strategic sourcing activities for assigned spend categories under the supervision of the Procurement Head - Plan and manage project-related procurement activities to reduce inventory carrying costs - Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliances in all procurement transactions Qualifications: - Graduate in Engineering or Operations Management - Proven experience in procurement and supply chain operations (07-08 years) - Working knowledge of import-export regulations and customs procedures - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills - Effective communication and vendor negotiation skills - Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, MS Office, and basic import-export tools/systems - Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus,
