Job Summary:

The Principal (Management Studies) serves as the academic and administrative head of the management institute or department. The role involves providing visionary leadership, ensuring academic excellence, fostering research and innovation, maintaining accreditation standards, and overseeing faculty and student development. The Principal is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and collaboration with industry and academic partners.

Key Responsibilities:Academic Leadership

  • Oversee curriculum design, development, and implementation as per university and regulatory guidelines (AICTE/UGC/MAKAUT, etc.).
  • Promote quality teaching, research, and innovation in management education.
  • Encourage interdisciplinary learning and case-based teaching methods.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance and outcomes.

Administrative Management

  • Manage institutional operations, including admissions, examinations, scheduling, and infrastructure utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial reports, and academic audits.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of faculty and staff.

Strategic Planning & Development

  • Formulate long-term goals and development strategies for institutional growth.
  • Foster collaborations with industries, universities, and professional bodies for internships, placements, and research projects.
  • Lead initiatives for digital transformation, skill enhancement, and entrepreneurship development.

Student Development

  • Ensure holistic development of students through academic mentoring, career guidance, and co-curricular activities.
  • Promote student participation in management fests, research conferences, and leadership programs.

External Relations & Branding

  • Represent the institution in academic and professional forums.
  • Build partnerships with industry leaders and alumni networks for institutional advancement.
  • Strengthen placement and internship opportunities for students.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Management or related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in teaching/research/administration in higher education, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of academic administration, accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, AICTE), and quality assurance systems.
  • Proven record of research publications, consultancy, and institutional development.
