As the Principal Engineer within the WSP Aviation team in India, you will play a crucial role in the growth and development of the airfield civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for leading the design and maintenance projects from feasibility studies to detailed design and construction for clients in the UK and overseas. **Key Responsibilities:** - Act as the design lead for airfield civil engineering projects. - Provide leadership and direction to junior team members, planning their work and managing the delivery of technical engineering projects. - Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications for airfield engineering projects in the UK and overseas. - Conduct technical design reviews to meet quality management requirements. - Communicate and coordinate designs with team members, industry associates, and Clients. - Identify and manage design risks, issues, and Request for Information (RFIs). - Support Project Managers in project progress monitoring and development of project controls. - Implement technical quality requirements, address the project brief, and meet client deadlines. - Act as a role model, line manager, and mentor for other staff. - Champion excellent health and safety in design. - Contribute to the recruitment and growth of the Aviation team in India. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum of 10 years of civil infrastructure design experience at airports. - Experience in civil engineering projects at airports from concept through to detailed design and construction support. - Experience in managing engineering professionals in technical aviation projects. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Competent self-leadership, attention to detail, and ability to work in a dynamic environment. - Proficiency in international airfield design standards such as ICAO and FAA. - Knowledge and experience of relevant airfield engineering design software packages. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). - Preferred Qualifications include a Civil Engineering Degree or relevant equivalent, Chartered or Incorporated Status, and knowledge of construction contracts such as NEC 4. Please note that the location of the position is in Noida/Bangalore.
