Principal Engineer

As a Principal Software Engineer at Autodesk's Platform Services and Emerging Technologies team, your role will involve working with distributed systems and database engineering as a part of the Forge Data team in Pune. Reporting to a Software Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to create innovative solutions, collaborate with industry experts, and contribute to real-time data-centric experiences at scale for designers and creators worldwide. **Key Responsibilities:** - Address significant technical challenges from design to launch, delivering solutions utilized by other teams and products - Develop strategies for managing large projects and implementing architectural standards in new endeavors - Lead code reviews, documentations, and complex bug fixes while setting high standards for code quality - Collaborate with engineering teams on company-wide initiatives and mentor junior members - Use Java/J2EE for Distributed Cloud Applications and demonstrate proficiency in coding, data structures, and algorithms - Possess a BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 10+ years of Software Development experience - Exhibit strong knowledge of databases and experience in building cloud services with AWS or Azure - Demonstrate self-motivation, quick learning abilities, and excellent problem-solving skills - Display a passion for mentoring team members, fostering a collaborative environment, and considering customer impact in technical decisions **Qualifications Required:** - BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding - 10+ years of overall Software Development experience - Proficiency in design, coding, data structures, and algorithms - Strong skills in writing code using Java/J2EE for Distributed Cloud Applications - Good understanding of databases and experience in building services in the cloud (AWS, Azure) - Self-motivated, quick learner with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong team player - Curiosity and willingness to be a full-stack developer - Passion for collaborating with and mentoring junior team members - Consideration of customer impact in technical decisions - Self-starter with a willingness to dive in and figure things out Autodesk is a company that takes pride in fostering a culture of belonging and innovation.
