Develop innovative and technically sound design solutions within program schedule milestones. Collaboration with multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Understand technical processes and design requirements of gas turbine hardware. Learn and apply sophisticated solid modeling and analysis tools in a highly proficient manner. Utilize standard work, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and other tools to continuously improve design processes. Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics. Leads and prepare the status and technical content to CIPT and upper management. Analyzes data gathered and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work Work closely with IPT members and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements Supports & lead Class 1 and Class 2 engineering change execution Supports & leads in the execution of risks assessments and mitigation plans OTHER MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS Attend and have participation in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training required Actively participate and lead the initiatives for continuous improvement using CORE tools and support AS9100 efforts Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company Support project management activities such as scoping, estimation, scheduling, etc, BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 11+ years for bachelor s degree or 9+ years for master s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Relevant Aerospace design engineering experience of 8+ years for bachelor s degree or 6+ years for master s degree in engineering. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Degree from premium institutes and experience working in the Aerospace Industry, having broad understanding of gas turbine hardware, drawings, and manufacturing methods. High proficiency in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter and SAP is desired. Exceptional problem solving and communication skills. Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to possess. Latest GD&T and its application on CAD models, ASME standards such as ASME Y14.5 - 2018, ASME Y14.41 - 2019 and other industry standards. Proficiency in analysis tools such as ANSYS and workbench. Automated design optimization skills are a plus. Green/Black Belt six sigma certification is also a plus.
